Why Fund Democracy in Wartime?

Winning the war on the battlefield is only half the battle. Post-war reconstruction will bring hundreds of billions in Western investment — investment that will fail if Ukraine does not have an uncorrupted, Western-trained generation of lawyers, judges, and civil servants. BUD builds that institutional firewall.

Prize money sent to the front

Students in our legislative drafting course drafted real reform bills. After winning first place, the teams unanimously donated 100% of their cash prizes (8,000 UAH) directly to the Ukrainian military.

Resilience

Lectures continued in bomb shelters

During air raids and missile strikes in Lviv, our professors and students did not stop. They relocated underground into bomb shelters and kept analyzing constitutional checks and balances by emergency light.

Frontline Reach

Educating displaced and bombed universities

Our online democracy course connects students from frontline cities like Kharkiv and Sumy whose campuses were damaged, granting them free, accredited ECTS credits and international mentorship.
